Welcome New Millard West Wildcats!!

The Guidance Office would be happy to help with your transition as a student new to Millard West High School. Our office is open twelve months a year from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (CST). To enroll at Millard West please call the Registrar’s Secretary, Mary Jane Collette at (402) 715-6091 to set up an appointment to meet with a counselor.

How do I enroll at Millard West?

Call Mrs. Collette in the Guidance Office at 402-715-6091 to set up an appointment for registration. Mrs. Collette will also talk about the paperwork that will be involved in the registration process.

Where can I get more information about Millard West?

Is transportation provided by Millard West?

If you are interested in riding the bus your parent/guardian needs to call First Student Transportation at 402-896-0142 to make necessary arrangements. The school district does not provide bus transportation to Millard West.

What is BLOCK scheduling?

With block scheduling, you have four classes a day. Each class is 90 minutes long. Classes change on a semester basis and each semester lasts nine weeks. With block scheduling, there a re four semesters in one year. Most academic classes (math, English, social studies, science, world language) are two-semester classes. Most electives are one semester.

How will I find my way around the building?

A few days before the start of the school year students new to the district and their families are invited to a “Meet and Greet” hosted by the Guidance Office. The “Meet and Greet” allows new students the opportunity to tour the building, meet other new students and staff and enjoy light refreshments.

If you enroll after the first day of school, a Student Ambassador will be assigned to help you with your locker, find your classrooms, and assist you with lunchroom procedures. Your ambassador will also join you for lunch in the Commons the first few days to help you get acquainted with other students.


School Information

The Millard Public School District is located in the southwest area of Omaha, Nebraska. This predominantly suburban, residential district serves over 22,000 students, including twenty-five elementary schools, six middle schools, one alternative learning center and three high schools. Millard West opened in August 1995 to serve the rapidly growing western area of the district.

The Millard School District has the reputation of being among the finest school districts in the state and nation. Millard’s SAT and ACT scores are higher than metro, state and national averages. Over 94% of Millard West graduates go on to higher education. The American Library Association has called Millard’s school libraries among the best in the nation. The American Music Conference has named Millard’s music program one of the top 100 programs in the country. Kiplinger's Magazine cited the "top-rated, nationally recognized" Millard School District as one of the reasons Omaha rates No. 3 in the list of the Top 10 Best Cities for 2008.

Millard West operates on a four by four semester block schedule. Credits are assigned to classes at five (5) credits per course per semester. Class periods are 90 minutes in length. With the four by four block schedule, Millard West has four semester grading periods each year.
